Pupils at St Mary’s Primary School in Henley win competition with giant quilt.

winner of the under 16's category
The 10-year-olds spent two months under the supervision of art teacher Kate Findlay making the 2mx2m work, which depicts town landmarks such as the town hall and Tudor House antiques shop.
They entered the prestigious Malvern Quilt Festival in Lincolnshire and won the under-16s category.Headmaster Tim Ackroyd said the pupils’ achievement was “phenomenal”.
The quilt (shown below) will be on display in the window of the Helen & Douglas House charity shop in Duke Street throughout the regatta season and picture cards of it are on sale at the school and Mathers in Bell Street.
