Art Inspiring Google Earth Photos

Do you have some exquisite hand dyed cotton in your stash that seem just too beautiful to slash into?

A friend of mine, Terrilyn Green is an amazing person to stand beside when we we share a dyeing day. She is so liberal with the liquid fiber reactive dyes, sloshing the dye trays with abandon. She’s truly generous as well, anything we dye at my house stays at my house. And the kind of results she invariably gets are just too wonderful to “ruin” by cutting.

First Light and Stream of Windows were both made with Terrilyn’s dyed fabrics. I was reminded of our shared pleasure dyeing fabrics too beautiful to chop into when I came across the following Google snapshots of  planet earth.

Just let your eyes roam over the 8 beautiful satellite images below, taken by Google Earth, and photo adjusted by coreburn (alias) at Flickr’s the Creative Commons. At the Creative Commons you may search through millions of photographs available royalty free. Some photos at the site have royalty restrictions, so be sure to search the Creative Commons if you use the photographs.googleearathhorizongoogleearatheyestormgoogleearthcoinshapegoogleearthdryrivergoogleearthhurricanegoogleearthsnow
