Welcome to my Contemporary Quilt Art Forum,
a Blog with the goal of helping fiber and quilt artists improve their web profiles through mutual links, quality websites and a serious and professional level approach to marketing our art via the Internet blogs and websites Our goals are all aimed to increasing site traffic.
As long as I can remember, I have been hand making nearly everything one needs in life by sewing, knitting and gardening, making furniture, music and children, working on a career, a successful marriage and a faith filled life, even developing some public speaking skills. I also like to travel, not so much to famous cities but rather the grand panoramas of mountains, oceans, forests. The out door life is what suits me.
I’m very introspective and tend to be organized. I focus intently on one thing at a time and so quilting is second nature to me, and I have created well over 100 quilts.
Like many quilters, after making the transition from traditional quilting methods and materials, I discovered the freedom of creating art quilts and all that is involved in that process. When the opportunity came to start my first quilting business, Nova Quilt Art, I realized how much I really wanted to be as fully engaged as possible with the creative aspects of quilt design and hand dyeing techniques.
In 2003 I began showing my quilt artwork in several galleries in Sedona, Arizona. This exposure lead me more fully into the active art scene in Sedona. I served on the boards of the Sedona Art & Architecture Home Tour and the Art of the West Art Shows. This provided me with the opportunity to mix with other artists, gallery owners, artists’ agents, art collectors, various media and art critics.
In today’s contemporary art world, being an active participant in the Internet world of websites and blogs is an asset. And so with the major assistance of my husband, the technical support behind this and all things computer related, I have moved one step further into the “contemporary” of the modern art quilt world with my online business website, Quilts4U and this blog, contemporaryquiltart.org .
Both these websites share my goal of wanting to improve the Internet presence and profile of all quilters, not just limiting the information and inspiration to contemporary art quilters. In fact, the fundamentals and examples I present through my websites are so general that they can apply to just about anyone interested in improving their effectiveness managing web related needs.
Why Contemporary Quilt Art, Your Inspiration Zone?
I like to start out any practical project knowing precisely how things are going to get started so I can map successive stages effectively. My blog site itself and the posts you can read here all focus on the base in basics–building quality in various aspects of websites and blog content.
This site is dedicated to quilters helping other quilters learn the skills needed to be more effective in the Internet world by sharing their experiences and knowledge.
